NO.1 FULL MELT POOL IS KEY
When you light your candle for the first time, it's important to let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the jar. This will take about 3 to 4 hours. If you don't do this, you'll end up with wax residue on the sides of the jar every time you burn the candle after that.
NO.2 TRIM YOUR WICK
Each time you re-light your candle, trim the wick down to 1/4 inch long, or, you can use your fingers to simply pinch off the burnt bits off of the top. your candle will not light if you leave this burnt part on. your wick needs to be 1/4 inch long because if your wick is any longer, the flame may become too big which will burn through your candle quickly. large flame is also very dangerous. you want a nice strong burn without letting your flame get out of control.
NO.3 RESPECT YOUR CANDLE’S BOUNDARIES
After the first burn, only burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. if you . let it burn more than 4 hours, you will shorten the life of your candle as the flame will become stronger.
NO.4 KEEP AWAY FROM DRAFTS, PETS, AND CHILDREN.
Keep your candle away from drafts and any flammable materials. this one seems obvious but drafts and movement around your candle can cause black soot to build up on the inside of your vessel, which isn't appealing! make sure to trim your wick to 1/4 an inch and keep away from drafts, pets, and children!
NO. 5 STOP BURN WHEN 1/4 WAX
Remains make sure to stop burning your candle when 1/4 of wax remains at the bottom, and don't forget to reuse the candle vessel!
NO.6 REUSE, REDUCE, RECYCLE!!!
Make sure to stop burning your candle when there is only 1/2 inch of wax left at the bottom of the jar. Our wick holders have raised edges to prevent you from burning the candle past a safe point. This is necessary because the jar will become very hot and unsafe. After using the candle, you can clean out the jar and repurpose it as a planter, tumbler, or for storage. Visit our Instagram for instructions on how to clean out your jar. Another option is to freeze the jar so the bottom wax pops out, which you can then use for wax melts.
